Delete your account
Last updated: September 26, 2026
You can permanently delete your GymLog account and its associated data at any time, directly from the app. This page explains how, and exactly what is removed.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open the GymLog app and make sure you're signed in.
- Go to Settings โ Account โ Delete account (the same place on iPhone and Android).
- Confirm when prompted.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once it completes, you're signed out and all locally stored data on that device is wiped.
What data is deleted
Deleting your account removes all of your server-side data tied to your account, including:
- Your public profile (display name, @username, bio, goals, avatar, stats).
- Your username claim, so the handle is freed for others.
- Every workout summary you published, together with its reactions and comments.
- Private data stored for your account: your synced workouts, templates, equipment, gyms and settings, your cloud backup, push-notification tokens, and subscription receipts.
- Your friend connections (both directions) and any pending friend requests you sent or received.
- Proxy / "log for me" invites, requests, and edit grants โ as both the granter and the editor.
- Comments and reactions you left on other users' workouts.
- Gym ratings and reviews you authored.
- Profile photos and workout photos you uploaded (removed from cloud storage).
- Your AI usage counters.
- All data stored locally on your device (your on-device workout history, cached images, and app preferences).
- Your sign-in credentials / authentication record, so the account no longer exists.
Because GymLog is local-first, your detailed workout history lives on your device โ deleting the app or completing account deletion removes it from that device. If you want a copy first, export your data from Settings โ Export my data before deleting.
What is retained
After deletion, we do not retain your profile or content, except:
- Gyms you added stay, because they are shared places, but no longer say who added them. A workout you logged for a friend stays in their account without your name.
- Reports you filed or that were filed about you are kept for up to 365 days, for safety and appeals.
- Server logs that can include your account ID are kept for up to 30 days, and crash reports linked to your account ID for up to 90 days.
- Purchase record: so one subscription can't be used on two accounts, we keep a record of each purchase (a one-way fingerprint of the store's purchase identifier, the platform, product, status, dates and your account ID โ never your name, email or payment details). On deletion the record is released from your account, so if you sign up again you can restore the same subscription on the new account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription โ cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
- Our providers' system backups may hold copies briefly before they are overwritten.
See the Privacy Policy (Section 6) for every retention period.
Requesting deletion another way
If you can't access the app, you can request deletion by emailing armgardtj@outlook.com from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.
